Shirdi Ke Sai Baba is a 1977 Bollywood film directed by Ashok V. Bhushan. The plot revolves around a sick child who wishes to be taken to Shirdi, where Sai Baba lived. His parents, who are skeptical about Sai Baba's powers, agree to take him there after he regains consciousness for a short while. There they meet an ardent devotee of Sai Baba who narrates the story of Sai Baba's life and miracles. The movie also shows how Sai Baba's teachings influenced various people from different backgrounds and faiths.

The movie is based on the book Shri Sai Satcharitra, written by Hemadpant, a disciple of Sai Baba. It is considered to be one of the most authentic sources of information about Sai Baba's life and teachings. The movie also incorporates some historical facts and events related to Sai Baba's time.

The movie is available for download in high quality from various online platforms. You can choose from different formats, resolutions, languages, and subtitles according to your preference. You can also stream the movie online if you have a stable internet connection. However, we recommend downloading the movie in high quality so that you can enjoy it without any interruptions or buffering issues.

The Plot of the Movie

The movie begins with a scene where Pooja (Hema Malini), a devoted wife and mother, is praying for her son's recovery from a serious illness. Her husband (Rajendra Kumar), who is a doctor, wants to take him to a hospital for further treatment, but Pooja has heard about Sai Baba (Sudhir Dalvi) and wants her son to be treated by him. Her son suddenly regains consciousness for a short while and demands that he be taken to Shirdi, where Sai Baba lives.

Pooja convinces her husband to take their son to Shirdi by train. On their way, they meet a devotee (Manoj Kumar) who tells them about Sai Baba's miracles and teachings. He also gives them some holy ash (udhi) blessed by Sai Baba. They reach Shirdi and go to Dwarakamayi, the mosque where Sai Baba lives. There they see Sai Baba sitting on a stone and giving blessings to his devotees. They also witness some of his miracles, such as lighting lamps with water, curing a leper, and saving a child from a snake bite.

The devotee then narrates the story of Sai Baba's life and how he came to Shirdi. He tells them that Sai Baba was born in a Brahmin family, but was abandoned by his parents at a young age. He was adopted by a Muslim fakir (a wandering ascetic) and his wife, who taught him the values of love, service, and tolerance. Sai Baba traveled to various places and learned from different saints and sages. He eventually settled in Shirdi, where he lived in a dilapidated mosque that he named Dwarakamayi (the mother of all doors).

The devotee also tells them about Sai Baba's teachings and how he preached the unity of all religions and the equality of all beings. He says that Sai Baba used to say "Sabka Malik Ek" (One God governs all) and "Allah Malik" (God is the master). He also says that Sai Baba used to perform miracles not to show off his powers, but to help his devotees and increase their faith. He says that Sai Baba used to give udhi (holy ash) to his devotees as a symbol of his grace and protection.

The movie then shows some of the incidents that illustrate Sai Baba's teachings and miracles, such as:

  • How he saved a devotee named Shyama (Manmohan Krishna) from a fire accident by appearing in his dream and telling him to apply udhi on his burns.

  • How he helped a poor devotee named Bhagoji (Birbal) to get rid of his leprosy by asking him to massage his feet with oil every day.

  • How he cured a devotee named Nana Saheb Chandorkar (Raj Mehra) of his asthma by giving him some water from a nearby well.

  • How he revived a devotee named Radhakrishna Mai (Shubha Khote) from her deathbed by appearing in her room and sprinkling some water on her face.

  • How he fulfilled the wishes of a devotee named Das Ganu (Mukri) by making him sing beautifully and write poetry.

  • How he helped a devotee named Tatya Patil (Vikram Gokhale) to pass his exams by giving him some almonds and blessing him.

  • How he protected a devotee named Mhalsapati (Paintal) from a robbery by appearing as a dog and scaring away the thieves.

  • How he saved a devotee named Chand Patil (Dheeraj Kumar) from a drought by making it rain on his fields.

  • How he blessed a devotee named Bayyaji Bai (Sulochana Latkar) with a child by giving her some fruits and flowers.

  • How he helped a devotee named Balwant Khote (Mac Mohan) to get married by arranging his match with Radhakrishna Mai's daughter.

The movie also shows how Sai Baba faced some challenges and opposition from some people who did not understand or appreciate his teachings, such as:

  • A British officer named Reay (Tom Alter) who tried to arrest Sai Baba for being a rebel and a fraud.

  • A priest named Raghu Patil (Madan Puri) who tried to defame Sai Baba for being a Muslim and an impostor.

  • A magician named Abdul Karim (Jalal Agha) who tried to challenge Sai Baba for being a fake miracle-worker.

The movie ends with the scene where Sai Baba passes away on October 15, 1918, after giving his last message to his devotees: "Do not think I am dead. I am always alive in your hearts. My tomb will speak and move with you."
